I advise venture firms evaluating portfolio monitoring, fund accounting, and operations software. An engagement can include defining requirements, deciding whether to build or buy, narrowing the vendor list, evaluating demos and proposals, and identifying implementation risks that are easy to miss during a sales process.

My perspective comes from both sides of the decision: I spent five years building and operating portfolio monitoring software, and I've worked directly with venture firms as users, buyers, and investment teams.
